1. The sender signal does not appear after inserting the batteries.

Please remove the batteries from both the sender and receiver. Place the units directly next to each other. Then first insert the batteries into the sender and immediately afterwards insert the batteries into the receiver.

2. At first, the sender signal appears but then it disappears again.

The radio signals used cannot always penetrate reinforced concrete. There should be line of sight between transmitter and receiver. It is best to fix the sender near an exterior window in the room in which the receiver is located.

3. Why does the signal from the outdoor sensor disappear when it is cold outside?

We often hear from our customers that the outdoor sensor stops working sometimes in winter. However, this is not because that the outdoor sensor is defective but because the batteries used can lose their power at extreme temperatures or even burst. For this reason, we recommend taking the outdoor sensor inside during winter and installing a mechanical weather station for use during these months:

4. How accurate are the readings displayed?

Unfortunately, all such digital devices have measurement uncertainties of +/-2 degrees. This means there may be a deviation of up to 4 degrees or so between adjacent indoor and outdoor thermometers. However, this is linear - i.e. when the deviation has once been determined with the help of a calibrated thermometer, it will be always remain the same discrepancy. There is no other way to calibrate.

5. My outdoor sensor is exposed to the rain. Could that damage it?

Most external sensors (with the exception of rain sensors) are not waterproof! Rainwater is the most common reason for damage to them. We recommend mounting the outdoor sensor in a dry location. If necessary, you can wrap it up in a freezer bag to waterproof it.

12. The hygrometer value displayed is incorrect. What do I have to do?

The hygrometer must be calibrated, which is carried out as follows: Wrap the device in a wet cloth (not dripping wet) and wait for about 10 minutes. There is an adjuster on the back, in most cases a small slotted screw, which has to be turned. Have a screwdriver at hand for this purpose so that it is immediately available. After the 10 minutes are up, remove the cloth and immediately adjust the indicator on the hygrometer to display 100% relative humidity. This completes the calibration process and your weather station should now function correctly.

13. The barometer value displayed is incorrect. What do I have to do?

It is usually possible to calibrate the barometer. This information is available in the instructions. You can obtain the current value for the air pressure at your location on the Internet. For example, at the GFS: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/tkavneur.html
