Okay for a Starter Nightvision
Review by S. P. on 12.02.2025 08:13:04( 3 / 5 )
I’ve had this device for about 2 months now (bought it of a friend of mine), I’ve actively used this device in varying conditions and times.
I cannot say too much about this device since I can only compare it to Military equipment such as the PVS-14 and the PVS31s they issue (but they are better then LUCIE by Thales) .
Now:
-Weight (this is one heavy chonker and without a Counterweight you are gonna feel the effects in your neck after 2-1 hours of wearing a helmet.
-length/eye relief (it’s an old device I get that but it’s almost incompatible with most modern helmets since the device will smack into your eye [or you have problems with the eye relief] even with an L4 Mount and an Dovetail adapter you will come to realize that you have to push the front of the helmet up to properly see)
-Tube(ain’t nothin wrong with the tube, it’s an older mid end Gen2+ tube, I’ve not had any issues so far with it, works perfectly fine as it should)
To all people looking at this and reading the reviews, this is not really something to be “super operator” with it’s fine for airsoft, paintball, larding and hunting and whatever other day trips you do but this by no means compares to high end gen2+ tubes.
It’s an OK device tho.
5/10
Armasight Sirius Review
Review by L. K. on 26.03.2022 13:34:43( 2 / 5 )
I purchased the Armasight Sirius QSI back about 1 year ago, and i have been using it enough to be able to construct a review on the device from my own experience. In my case, the night vision tube inside performs well enough to be able to do any night activities in complete darkness. Though, it is very hard to look through the device, the eye relief is terrible, and you have to get really close to be able to see well through it. Not ideal at all. It also severely lacks in the form of the size and the optics/lenses on the device. When you look through it, the edges are very blurry, and in my opinion the picture shown on the site here does not match what you see in real life.
Something which is also worth mentioning is that my device came in a Armasight Box, but in an AGM protective sleeve, and then my device was branded EOC. Not sure what the explanation is there, but that's 3 brands.
The device is also quite big compared to other military grade night vision devices such as the PVS-14. While it is possible to mount it onto a helmet, it's still very big and bulky and i just suggest not using it for that purpose.
All over, I discourage people from buying this device mainly due to the terrible optics and the complications of mounting it on a helmet. To note it of course does also not come with a Spec sheet for the tube, and there is no way of knowing what the exact specs on the device is.
Spend your money elsewhere, and invest in something with better quality. This is definitely not worth it.
