Chinese stag beetle
This stag beetle native to Asia, but has similarities to its European relatives. This beetle is about 3.5 cm long (including the extremities) and about 2.5 cm wide. Its European relatives are considered highly endangered and are therefore on the red list.
The advantages in a nutshell:

- ideally suited for incident light stereo microscopy
- suitable for beginners in microscopy
- embedded in block of clear acrylic
- also excellent as a present or decorative item
