Customer reviews

Really good starter telescope!

This is a really nice telescope to start. If you are beginner like me don't take smaller newton telescopes. This is it or the 150/750 version. The quality of the telescope is really good (cool looking diamond black color) and the mount is fair for visual observation (i think the mount is little too shaky for astrophoto stuff). The size is really compact.

If you choose this one for your first telescope remember to buy 2x zoom barlow with it because there is only 10mm and 25mm lenses on the package but no barlow.

Amazing...

I’ve brought the Sky-Watcher Explorer 130P from astroshop.eu and it has arrived on schedule by UPS (4 business days), as said on website.
It was a big package, with all the parts fully protected and ready to assemble. The instructions manual is very good, with lots of pictures and well explained (in English and German).
I’ve toke more or less 1h30m to calmly assemble and balance the telescope, reading carefully every step of the way. The final picture can be described, as my wife said: We are going to be arrested, that’s a cannon! :)
My first telescope was a small reflector 60x700 with a poor mounting system, very small eyepieces and it was a hell to find anything in the sky… although it had some nice moon view and Jupiter plus 4 moons (with a lot of patience, perseverance and work), it lacked aperture (light gathering).
I’ve searched and searched, and read forums and reviews, and finally decided to buy the Sky-Watcher Explorer 130P, why? Well, in resume of a very looong story, I’ve went to a local shop to see live some telescopes and, visually, I liked the old Sky-Watcher that stand there, it seemed well constructed, robust and professionally manufactured. When I read some reviews and forums I’ve first decided to brought the Sky-Watcher 130x900, but some days later I read the it has a spherical mirror (I don’t know what this means…) and that a parabolic mirror had better image, and since the difference was not that much for the 130P, in terms of price, I’ve decided to change to the 130x650 P (parabolic mirror).
In resume, the website sent everything quickly and as described, 5 stars there. Sky-Watcher seems a very good brand, very professional parts, well protected for transport, all was aligned and telescope collimated, also 5 star there. Very nice eyepieces (at least compared with the tiny ones that I’ve had) with boxes and caps, 5 stars also. And to be veryyyyyy fusspot, the only let down was that the telescope doesn’t had a barlow 2x with it, 4,7 stars there!
Thank you astroshop.eu, UPS and Sky-Watcher for all the good job you’ve made!
Hoping to have clear night skies today!
