Omegon Discoverer truss-tube Dobsonian telescope:
The professional truss-tube Dobsonians from Omegon are distinguished above all by the very high quality mirrors. The Suprax mirrors with Hilux coatings boast an impressive 97% reflection level; which is individually certificated for each telescope. With mirror diameters from 300mm to 600mm and surface qualities of Lambda 1/6, 1/8 and 1/10, there is a wide range of various specifications available to suit your needs. These high-end instruments are complemented by an aluminium and steel truss-tube structure combined with a very stable rocker box built from glued multilayer boards.
The smaller instruments with a 300mm mirror come equipped with a Kineoptic Helical focuser. The larger instruments come equipped with a 2" Moonlight Crayford focuser. An optional extension kit comprising two pneumatic tyres is also available and this lets the larger telescopes be easily moved around by just a one person. Additional accessories such as appropriate stray-light protection are also available.
The instruments are available in two variants: Travel and Classic. For the Travel version, the emphasis has been put on transportability, the truss-tubes can be disassembled and the secondary mirror assembly can be retracted completely into the rocker box. Overall, the Travel models are slightly less heavily constructed so their dimensions are significantly reduced, allowing even the 24-inch model to be fairly easily transported. The opposite emphasis has been put on the Classic versions and they are built to a high level of stability, with truss-tubes that cannot be disassembled and a particularly robust construction for the wooden rocker box.
With this telescope, you get CNC-machined technology and a professional hand-built device built to a very high level of quality. The individual production means a delivery time of between 3 and 6 months.
